Getting started in article writing doesn't have to be difficult. Not all article styles are created equal and some styles may come easier to you than others. The more time you spend finding your style now, the less time you'll waste later.

The easiest way to find your style is to write about topics you're familiar with and enjoy. Have a hobby you love? An opinion that you're radical about? The passion that fuels your attachment to things, events and opinions is the fuel for articles that draw readers in and hold them captive.

To Do: Make a quick list of things you are passionate about. When entries no longer come easy, it's time to end the list and go on to writing. Pick one word from your list. This word is your starting point. Your first article topic.

Once you know what topic you are going to begin with, you''re ready to identify your style. Articles can be written as how-to's, all about's, personal opinions, informational essays, introductions, and press releases, just to name a few of them.

To Do: Take your chosen passion and try to write about it in at least three different ways. Which way was easier? If they were all easy, you're a natural born article writer. If you had to work at all of them, don't despair. Good article writing can be learned.

Now that you know which article writing style comes easiest to you, focus on using that style for awhile. As you write more and more, writing becomes easier and easier. Once you feel comfortable in one style, you can step out and try another.

Finding your writing style and applying it to topics you are familiar with will get your article writing career off to a good start. Keep writing and submitting your articles and before you know it, you'll be a professional article writer with a string of published articles to your credit.
