The Beatles, how can I put into words how great they were. I feel fortunate to have lived through Beatlemania. First making their appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show, the four attractive young guys had every female heart beating just a little bit faster in the few minutes they sang on T.V.
The Beatles songs were simple but effective and most importantly, written by them. Paul McCartney and John Lennon were the masterminds of the group writing songs like "Hey Jude" a song written about John Lennons son, Julian. The name was changed to Jude because it was thought that Jude instead of Julian would sound a little better for the song.
The Beatles were ahead of their time for being so young. Playing the Beatles songs many times over through the years I have been fascinated by them from the sweet song of "I Want to Hold Your Hand" to the more poetic lyrics of "Eleanor Rigby".
The Beatles came to this country by storm and their lives were never the same. Their band ended abruptly one day but their music lives on forever. I will be going to see Paul McCartney's concert tomorrow and he is a singer that I would travel a good distance and stay up late enough just to witness a talented man a work.
I recently have been watching youtube videos of various musicians and pulled up Paul McCartney playing "Live and Let Die" in concert and the video was awesome and the light show was superb. Paul continued to use his talent after the Beatles ended and started "Wings" which also became quite successful.
I will write a follow up article on how I feel the concert went.
I am a want to be writer. I took a course in writing children's books years ago and loved it. The problem is giving myself a push to write on a regular basis. When it's up to par it feels like writing comes together like a puzzle but when I'm not in the mood it shows in my writing.
