Spoken language plays the most significant part in communication development of human history. Since people began to talk, they invent a diversity of languages in other areas and territories on Earth. Here are list of the most spoken languages due to the number of native speakers.
Mandarin (over 845 million speakers)
Mandarin, which has two writing systems of traditional and simplified Chinese, is one of many Chinese languages. Along with Cantonese and Xiang, Mandarin is the official language of People’s Republic of China and Taiwan. Furthermore, Mandarin is also among the main languages in Singapore where there has large number of Chinese immigration. Besides, immigration brought this language to United States and Europe.

Spanish (329 million speakers)
Spanish is spoken all over the world and mostly in Latin America and the United States where a large number of populations immigrated. In addition, Spanish is the six official languages of the United Nations.
English (328 Million speakers)
English originated from the Anglo-Saxon language (Old English) and borrowed from French. English is officially spoken in 53 countries, mostly in Britain and the United States.
Hindi-Urdu (242 million speakers total)
Hindi – Urdu, which has two familiar forms Standard Hindi and Standard Urdu, is spoken in one of the world’s most populous countries – India and Pakistan.
Arabic (221 million speakers)
Arabic is the official language of 26 countries which are located in Middle East and North Africa.
Bengali (181 million speakers)
Bengali is language of people in Bangladesh, some parts of India and even Saudi Arabia.
Portuguese (178 million speakers)
Portuguese is official language of both Portugal and Brazil. Otherwise, there are as many as 30 million people learning this language.
Russian (144 million speakers)
Thanks to the population of 144 million people, the Russian language has the same native speakers. Furthermore, Ukraine and Belarus are other Russian-speaking countries.
Japanese (132 million speakers)
Japanese is not only the official language of Japan but Palau as well. This language sits on the ninth position thanks to the fact that lots of native Japanese speakers live in the United States, Korea and Europe.
German (over 90 million speakers)
German, of course, is the official language of Germany. Besides, it is spoken in Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Austria and even Luxembourg.
